12/28/16 -- No MidWEEK!

Hey all, don't forget that we're on Christmas break, so there is no MidWEEK tonight!   We're back on January 8th!

Hey, everyone! MidWEEK will be in the LIFE House tonight, instead of its normal place in the church. We will be watching a Christmas movie, eating Christmas cookies, and drinking hot chocolate together!  Bring a blanket if you'd like.  It's pretty cold out there!

Hey all. We've decided to still have youth group tonight. As usual, if the roads are bad by you or if your parents don't want you driving please stay home. It's not worth the risk. Check out our live stream if you can't make it tonight. Search Life Teen Ministries on YouTube.

11/20/16 - A Night Of Thanksgiving

THIS SUNDAY NIGHT // we will be celebrating thanksgiving together! We will be having a meal together and spending some time reflecting on what we are thankful for as we worship God together!

11/10/16 -- NO LIFE This Sunday!

INSTEAD OF NORMAL YOUTH GROUP // we will be going to this event this Sunday night! #howtolife is a student-led event being held at Plainfield South High School. We will be meeting at the LIFE House at 5pm and driving there together. SPREAD THE WORD!

11/2/16 - No MidWEEK Tonight!

Hey, everyone!  Unfortunately we're going to be canceling MidWEEK for tonight!  Right after I mentioned how cool it was that we haven't cancelled yet... lame, I know. But, with the retreat coming up this weekend (which all High School students should come to), we've got a lot of work to do and we want to put as much time as we can into making sure this is an amazing weekend for all who come.  Therefore, no MidWEEK tonight!  See you all this weekend!

YG CANCELLED // 5-1-16

Hey everyone, this was just announced in church, but for those who are in other congregations or maybe missed it, YOUTH GROUP IS CANCELLED for tonight. Lee Ann and I both are not feeling well today and have had a long week and need to take a night to rest and recharge. We are sad that we will miss you, but we encourage you to still find someone to hang out with, talk with, meet with.

As for the missions meeting, that is cancelled as well and we will get back to you about the next meeting.

Finally, those who have memorized the verses for tonight, you can share those with me this Wednesday at MidWEEK.

4/21/16 -- Weekly

Here's the Weekly! Some thoughts regarding this past week's message... I heard from the small group leaders that "the future" or specifically "our future" was one of the things we hold highest and place immense value on (sometimes we value it more than we value God, to be honest).

The thing I've discovered about this is: When we so highly value GRADES because they will get us into college and then COLLEGE because it will get us a degree and then A DEGREE because it will get us a job and then OUR JOB because it will get us money and then MONEY because we need it to get married AND SO ON... (Not that any of these things are BAD things, but they should not be placed HIGHER than our relationship with God and our SPIRITUAL GROWTH).. When we do this, we're always living for THE NEXT moment ("I'll be happy when get done with high school," "I'll be content when I finish college," "I'll be satisfied once I get a job," etc.).

You need to see where God is working in your life RIGHT NOW and be content in that, knowing that the NEXT thing WILL eventually come. But God has you where you are in life for a reason (and hasn't allowed time machines to be invented for a reason!) and you'll never be truly HAPPY / AT PEACE / JOYFUL until you see this and be content in THE HERE NOW.

So, 2 summary points: 1) Be content where you are. You won't always be where you are and as soon as you move into a different stage of life you may miss this one.

And 2) God must be first. Don't let GOOD things get in the way of THE GREATEST thing (God). Don't allow greatest importance and first priority to be given to anything less than God Himself and your own personal spiritual growth.

We'll be cleaning the church and having a movie night tonight starting at 6:00pm (despite the fact that I told some of you 5:30)! Spread the word! Bring a movie and a snack!

Supposed Winter Storm...

I'm skeptical about this, but we're supposedly going to be getting a winter storm tonight. Not a ton of snow, but really strong winds making visibility for driving bad. That being said, keep an eye out for an announcement regarding Core and MidWEEK tonight here and on Facebook.

We'll be continuing in our series, My Heart Christ's Home, tonight! Also, for anyone who wants to join us, come at 5:00 for some flag football! We'll be in the field at the end of the gravel driveway.

We're Still On!

Most of the roads are okay to drive on. We will see you all tonight at Youth Group! If the roads near you are bad, don't risk it and just stay home.

As excited as we are to be back at LIFE with you all, your safety is our #1 priority. SO, keep your eyes peeled for our announcement later about whether or not we'll still have youth group tonight with the snow coming down. We'll access as the day goes on. We HOPE to see you all tonight!
